There are so many good walks all around Pembrokeshire, but it’s useful to know where to find some local walks … before heading further afield. These walks are all within easy reach of Manor Bedw.
Foel Drygarn: a walk on the hills – just 10 minutes drive away
One of our favourite local walks – turn right out of our driveway and head towards Crymych. Just after the Crymych sign which shows you have arrived in the village, turn left. Follow the road around to the left and park in the layby. Opposite you is the lane leading to Foel Drygarn. You can make this walk as long or as short as you like – around the hill, straight up the hill or extend as you wish. The exact location is shown on this map:

Pantmaenog: a walk on forest trails – 15 minutes drive away
Turn right out of our driveway and head towards Efailwen. Take the first left and follow the signs to Maenclochog. Turn right into the village and follow the road (B4313) until you reach the official Pantmaenog car park – it’s difficult to spot, but it is on the right, just after the turnings to the village of Rosebush. It’s labelled Horse box parking on the map:

Minwear / Canaston Woods: a walk in the woods – 15 minutes drive away
Canaston and Minwear Woods offer lots of great possibilities for walking, most of which are shown on this map: http://www.pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk/Files/files/Walk%20PDF/short_walks/english/minwear_canaston.pdf
To find one of our favourites, park at Blackpool Mill and walk over the bridge to the other side of the river. Turn left and follow the path towards Slebech. There is now a new car park at the entrance to Canaston Woods, so that’s another good starting point to explore the footpaths.
Colby Woods – 20 minutes drive away
Colby Woodland Garden is a National Trust property with some beautiful walks.

A walk at Llys y Fran Reservoir & Country Park – 20 minutes drive away
This always makes a great walk – you can park on either side of the reservoir and do a short stroll or a complete circuit.

The park is currently awaiting a redevelopment but is still open for walkers and cyclists; and the play area is open.
A Narberth woodland walk – 10 minutes drive away
Narberth is our local town. Park in the Town Moor public car park and next to the RAOB Club you will see a footpath leading into a woodland. This makes a nice stroll, but can be extended into a longer walk if you wish.
Beach walks
Pembrokeshire has many beautiful beaches, You can choose from wide expanses of golden sand such as Marloes or secluded bays such as Broad Haven South. To the south our closest beaches are Amroth, Saundersfoot and Tenby; to the north, Poppit Sands.
